Accounts Payable Ledger

A subsidiary ledger listing individual creditor & supplier accounts. Each vendor in a company's accounting information system has a sub-ledger account in the books by which the payments & invoices are tracked. During year-end, all subledger accounts must balance to the Accounts Payable General ledger account. If it does not, there is a discrepancy and must be investigated by accountants.
