Half Year Amortization

A method of calculating amortization for partial periods by taking 6 months worth of amortization, regardless of when the capital asset was purchased or disposed of. For instance, it doesn't matter if the asset was purchased on May 21st or September 28th, the half year rule is applied to calculate amortization for the current year.
